Role Overview

A business enablement administrator aids and provides technical support for all types of issues and queries affecting end users on our operating systems. This role also provides and monitors access to the system and is responsible for testing new developments and enhancements to the system as well as implementing system upgrades among other duties.

Duties and responsibilities

Key Performance Objectives

  • First line support to end users – Resolve issues logged by end users.
  • Directly talking to users to determine the nature of the technical issue.
  • Referring system related issues that cannot be resolved to the EBSphere development team
  • Verify banking details that could not be verified on the system directly with the various banks
  • Import and update daily prices received from asset managers into the operating system
  • Monitor tax files received from SARS and ensured that the automated files are imported successfully
  • Submit Investment and Disinvestment files to asset managers for the day and ensure correctness of these files
  • Import bank statements daily into the operating system
  • Compile reporting on issue logs to be sent on a weekly basis
  • Complete technical specs for small developments on the system, requested by management or staff
  • Do functional testing on new system enhancements or changes on the system before UAT & and signoff by business
  • Do functional testing on system upgrades before UAT & and signoff by business
  • Liaise with system developer before and after system enhancements or changes are deployed to production
  • Attend meetings with system developers and business user


Tertiary qualification or working towards one


  • At least 1 – 3 years’ experience in technical or system administration.
  • Experience working on Microsoft applications
  • Knowledge of system security (e.g. intrusion detection systems) and data backup/recovery
  • Familiarity with various operating systems and platforms
  • Ability to create scripts sequel
