Role overview

NMG Risk Managers is building an exciting and vibrant insurance broking and risk advisory business in the Short-term insurance market and we are looking for like-minded people to join us on this journey and build a rewarding career for themselves.

The Portfolio/Account Executive must be able to independently manage their Client portfolio.

Build and maintain a relationship with Client’s key decision makers and set an annual Client year plan and arrange and conduct Client/prospect meetings.                                                                                                                                                  

They need to maintain excellent relationships with the Insurance market Carriers and UMA’s in order to achieve superior deal negotiation outcomes for the NMG RM Clients.

The Portfolio/Account Executive is also responsible for supporting the Executive Head of NMG RM when required with administration and budget/financial management reporting and data/information capture and management.

Duties and Responsibilities

Key Performance Objectives

All insurance broking services to Clients including;     

  • CRM 
  • Advice 
  • Needs analysis 
  • Understanding Clients business and risk profile   
  • Recording of advice   
  • Broking and placement of policies   
  • Gathering of, preparation and distribution (to Carriers) of underwriting information   
  • Insurance portfolio review, analysis and renewal   
  • Analysis of quotations and cover that Carriers provide    
  • Compilation of presentations and quotes to Clients  
  • Inputs and data capture and maintenance of the TIAL CRM and policy administration system including tracking of premiums and commissions due to NMG RM  
  • Claims management

All insurance broking activities relative to Carriers (Insurers/UMA’s) including;

  • Relationship management 
  • Product knowledge 
  • Obtaining/negotiating best quotations and policy terms, conditions and cover       
  • Claims management                                                                                                     

Typical Client portfolio profile

  • All Professions/Professionals such as Accountants, Attorneys, Financial Advisors, Brokers/Intermediaries, Engineers, QSs etc.     
  • Financial Services Industry, Asset/Investment/Hedge Fund managers       
  • Healthcare, medical and allied medical
  • Construction and Engineering Industry
  • Corporate and commercial Risks

Products include - Must have solid knowledge or ability to learn quickly; 

  • Professional Indemnity/Civil Liability,
  • D&O,
  • Crime (related to Professions)          
  • Cyber
  • General Property & Casualty.

Administrative duties of this role include:

  • Working with management to ensure that Clients and appropriate Prospects are being well serviced and/or targeted;
  • Daily and weekly feedback and communication regarding Client CRM, Renewals, sales pipeline, opportunities and challenges;
  • Working with the Deal Executives to keep your pipeline of opportunities up to date on our system, as well as ensuring that all paperwork and supporting documentation are complete and correct;
  • Assisting  to source required documentation for the risk analysis and onboarding process.

Qualifications 

  • Tertiary qualification at NQF7 level or equivalent in Commerce; management and/or administration
  • Qualified Representative (RE1 & RE5)

Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years previous working experience in a sales role with a proven track record;
  • Experience in B2B Sales
  • Commercial and financial acumen;
  • Experience working in Salesforce or other CRM software is an advantage;
  • Fluent in English (essential) and at least one other South African language (advantageous);
  • Computer Literate (incl. MS Office Suite);
  • Driver’s license and own reliable vehicle.
